Material Disposal Platform

A government-mandated disposal platform for Malaysia's oil and gas sector. 16 companies. RM 100M+ in material value now tracked and auditable.

16 oil and gas companies were each handling material disposal their own way. Excel sheets, email approvals, no audit trail. The national governing body had zero visibility into what was being disposed, at what volume, or at what value. A government directive came down: fix it. Tight delivery timeline, 16 companies with completely different internal processes, and a hard technical dependency on SAP integration for inventory accuracy.

Owned the full requirements and testing cycle. Ran workshops with all 16 member companies to map their divergent disposal practices into one compliant baseline. Designed a 3-tier approval workflow enforced across every company with no disposal passing without all three tiers. Coordinated UAT sign-off from all 16 companies and the national governing body. Became the recognised domain SME for disposal across the platform.

The hardest part was managing competing perspectives from 16 companies simultaneously, each with valid but different views on how disposal should work. The answer was always to anchor to the regulatory baseline, not to any single company's preference. Providing options and showing trade-offs consistently led to faster, better decisions from business, technical, and government stakeholders.
